We can do anything (with a bit of help!)

I'm about to fall asleep and it's only 4:20 in the afternoon! :) So, this post could make no sense whatsoever. (Does anyone else LOVE that word? Whatsoever? How awesome is it!?)

Anyways.... so i was thinking today about a Bible verse. I don't know where it's from, and I don't knwo if I know the whole verse, but here it is: "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." I love that verse. It's so simple, and yet so powerful. And it's so true!

How crazy is it that the One who DIED for us, us; the small insignificant people on the tiny blue dot that never listen to the Creator of the Universe, still wants to help us, even after he did so much for, even as much as to offer up his life! That's just -- wow! I don't even know how to describe that. Crazy!

So, we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength! That is cool. :) Anything? We can do ANYTHING! That means we can reach out to the entire world (through Christ who gives us strength), we can end world poverty (through Christ who gives us strength), we can hike up mountains for 2 weeks (through Christ who gives us strength).... we can do absolutetly ANYTHING! Just ask and it shall be given to you!

Like that other verse (don't know where it's from) says: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."
So, all we need to do is belive in Jesus, and we get all these bonus things. Gifts of Grace. Pretty cool, huh? So, believe, ask, recieve.

Remember, we can do anything through Christ!

On Mission

So, over the weekend, I was away on my church camp. It was very fun. :)
That's not what I'm writing about, though. On the camp, we had 3 Bible studies. They were about being "on mission" and having a "mission lifestyle". That basically means how we can be missionaries for God, and how our whole lives can be (and should be) a mission for God.
One of the studies was completely focused on how we can use the internet for mission, and for spreading the Gospel. It really stuck out to me that having this blog is one way I can be a reflection of Jesus' Light in the world. This is one way I can reach out.
OK, so I'm not the most amazing at words. I'm not a preacher. I don't know everything about the Bible. But I can still be a witness for Jesus. So can you.
Even though we're not going off to be missionaries in Africa (well, I'm not, you might be! Comment and tell me if you are, coz that's great!), we can still be a witness to others.
Think John 5:14-16 -- "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise you Father in Heaven."
So, come on, girls. Let's be lamps, lights and candles! And think about it... one or two candles in a dark room aren't going to do much, are they? But a hundred? A thousand? A MILLION?? Yeah, that'd make it pretty bright! Let's light the candles! ;)

So, what's going to be your "mission"? Is your lifestyle a mission lifestyle? I don't know if mine is, but, with God's help, I hope it will be soon!

Have a wonderfully mission-filled day!

tired, sore, stiff. . . and still joyful :)

Wow! I cannot believe I made it!
Yesterday, I came back from a 2-day hike. It may not seem that hard, but when you're hiking up (almost) vertical hills and sliding down the other side, with a 16kg pack on (that's broken, and so hurts more than it needs to!), all the while battling march flies and mosquitos, it is very hard!
I am still amazed that I am home. I made it! I was so sore and tired and dirty while we were walking. I nearly died on one hill... I just wanted to be home, not walking, in my own bed, and CLEAN!!
On every mountain, I wanted to give up. I just wanted to flop down and cry. I wanted to suddenly wake up and be at home in my bed. But I didn't. There were so many moments when I was on the verge of giving up, but then God would suddenly send me a burst of energy, and I'd make it to the top of the mountain. Sometimes I'd pray for it, but others, He just sent it. The burst of energy would come in different forms as well. God is very creative. Sometimes, it would just be me telling myself to suck it up and keep walking! :) Sometimes it was someone else telling me I could do it, I was nearly there. Other times it would be someone making me laugh, or just talking to me. However it came, it helped me to get to the top, so that was fantastic! :D
Thank you, Lord Jesus. You got me home!

So, girls, whenever you want to give up, call it quits or break down and cry, look to God, call out for help, and He'll get you through it. Isn't that awesome?? He helps us out whenever we need it. Remember: "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." I've forgotten where that's from though... does anyone know?

You have my prayers as you face whatever struggles await you.

A smiling thought :)

Well, if you've read my friend Emii's blog today, you'd notice that her post title is similar to hers! That's not because I'm copying... it's because we had a smiling moment together today! :) It was nice... if you want to know what it was, check out Emii's blog...

Anyway, i like smiling moments, they're better than the "ahhh" moment! ;)

It seems like they are so rare, a moment when you just want stop everything and smile. Usually I end up doing just that (and usually end up looking just a bit goofy!).

So, i was thinking, why are they so rare? I mean, we smile all the time, but sometimes you just get a smiling moment and feel so happy and content, you don't feel like you could ever be sad again. Why can't we have that all the time? It would be be challenging to try and be happy all the time, wouldn't it? How would you go?

It's like 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says... "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." Good verse, huh? Smiling moments made me think about that verse. (I had to look it up, though, i couldn't rememeber it!)

I'm making that a challenge for you (and me, actually! It'll be hard!), to do a 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. Tell me how you go... I hope you get something out of this, I know I will! ;)

Have a wonderful day/night/afternoon/whatever you are having! :D

autumn. . .

Well, it's the season we've all been dreading! At least I have! ;)
Welcome to Autumn (or fall, if you live in the US), the season where I can never decide what to wear! Does anyone else get that problem? It'll be raining in the morning, so I wear my warm woolies (translation: warm clothing), and by 2 o'clock in the afternoon (Ahhh! My cat, Alfred, just jumped on the keyboard!), it'll be jump-in-the-pool-in-your-clothes weather! Even if it's not autumn where you are, you can still comment with your sympathy for us Aussie girls! So, my advice for those of you who are braving the season with me, always take a change of clothes! :)
But there are so many good things about Autumn, too. I love the colours of the leaves, especially when they go purple! I love jumping on crunchy leaves, and racing my friends to the best ones. Yes, it may sound like I'm about 4, but I LOVE crunching leaves! :) So, next time you see a crunchy leaf, jump on it for me, ok? And then comment and tell me how much fun you had! ;)

Random topic change: Guess what! I now have 8 followers! I'm very excited! I'm aiming to get at least 10 (preferably more) by the end of the week, so tell your friends!! Actually, they may not want to read my random writing! :S ha ha

So, I hope you had a fabulous first-day-of-Autumn (which is also my sister's birthday!), and enjoy tomorrow as well!
